Squad ALERT: BEST
BUY is sending out repair personnel to fix your
computers, and they are NOT CERTIFIED or LICENSED. That's
right , the Geek Squad technicians are
not certified and have no formal training. Many
local clients have called and complained that not
only did the Squad not fix their problems, but
made many worse. And how about this; a G.S. tech
actually tried to sell a customer Spybot and Ad-Aware, two well known anti-spyware programs that are free. Makes you wonder if they work
off commission. After exhaustive work repairing
damages done by the great folks at Best Buy and
their Geek Squad, many clients are now happy. Not
to mention their ridiculous service call fee of
$229.00 an hour; no matter what the problem. After
much deliberation, I have decided to post more
on the Squad due to the overwhelming number of
horror stories pouring in. Please
see this section for more. If you think experts are expensive, wait till you see how much amateurs cost you!
The Geek Squad now has a very long list of customer complaints concerning their service issues. From field agents not being on time, to faulty diagnostics and bogus charges. The lawsuit against Best Buy and their Geek Squad concerning their techs breaching confidentiality and accessing your personal files while they have your computer in their possession says enough.

PC ON CALL ALERT: These guys make the Geek Squad look like pros. These labor regressive tech's try to circumvent doing any major thinking by trying to sell clients expensive security software that they either have partnerships with or make commission from. To make matters worse, some of the software they try to sell is FREE SOFTWARE (available from this website and free, along with our good advice). PC on Call: A company dedicated to selling you; the customer, free software. 5 out of every 10 clients of mine are former PC on Call customers who are so furious with the level of service and lack of knowledge from these pocketbook con artists. And their standard service call fee is $189.00 an hour.
